Where to Buy Skis.

We have a lot of customers asking where the best places are to buys skis. We have gathered some of our favorite spots to point you in the right direction.

XP’s Top Pick
XXL is a good place to start. Ask them to help you pick out the right set which includes, skis, bindings and boots. You will need to buy the ski poles separately. They have the best prices and the people in the shop are very helpful. If they don't have your size, they can usually have it sent from another location.

Other Great Spots
Milslukern
Oslo Sportslager
Bull Ski og Kajakk
Finn.no (used skis)

Where to Rent Skis.

If you decide to rent skis, make sure to ask for ‘Felleski’ as with these you don’t need to worry about kick wax.

XP’s Top Pick
Tryvann / Skimore is great because our cross-cross country trailhead is within walking distance from where you can pick up skis. Make a reservation in advance either online or by phone, which we recommend as their website can be a bit tricky to navigate. They also have lockers where you can store your shoes and belongings.

Other Great Spots
BUA Utlånsordning

Feeling great on the trails is not all about talent and ability - a lot comes down to a great fit and balanced pair of skis.

Sizing Guide.

Kids. With younger children, shorter skis tend to be easier to maneuver and poles can often get in the way. For the littlest ones, you’ll want to choose skis that are approximately the same height the child, airing on the short size. If you decide to go with poles, they should reach just below the armpit.

For older children with a few years of experience under their belt, classic skis can be about 20cm longer than the child’s body height with skating skis about 10cm longer. Skating ski poles should reach shoulder height.

You can find more information here.

Adults. On average, adults will want to go for classic skis that are around 15-25 cm longer than their body height, though, there are other factors to take into consideration such as weight and personal preferences. Skating skis should be 5-15 cm longer than body height.
